Money makes the world go round and teaching students financial literacy pays off in the long run! Educating students on making wise financial decisions does indeed pay dividends. Give your students the knowledge that may provide them with personal financial wellbeing using the following online resources that promote financial literacy. 


Online Resources for Grades K-5

The Tooth Fairy app allows students to calculate and track the Tooth Fairy finances and how much money will be left under their pillow!

Are your students in the process of loosing their baby teeth? This site allows students to calculate and track the Tooth Fairy’s finances and discern how much money will be left under their pillow.


This site allows students to learn by building their own classroom “country economy.” Students earn school money in order to rent their own desks and other various financial scenarios they may face in the world outside of the school system. Here, they witness how their choices impact the economy.


This module based learning site provides students with information regarding where their money comes from, how they can best use their money and how banks keep it secure.

The Visa Financial Football game allows students to answer money related questions to score points

The credit card giant, Visa, and the National Football League have joined forces to create Financial Football. This interactive game allows students to answer finance questions in order to score points. Additionally, teachers can incorporate lesson plans into the game. Prom can be an expensive endeavour, costing hundreds of dollars for the various items and activities. The credit card giant, Visa, developed a free application that helps both parents and teens budget for the various prom-related expenses.

LunchTracker allows users to track money spent on food and beverages.

Everyone eats, the question is how much are you spending on lunch? Your students will be surprised to find out how much money they can save with some simple, easy to implement cost cutting tips. Use this site to calculate your spending and learn how to save money!
